Death, or life?

When a rose dies,
The sweetest fragrance comes forth
Though when it is living, you smell
Little fragrance,
Is it because of its death, it gives all it has?
Or is it because that at deaths door, it has
Nothing but what it gives?

Wow this is a good question. I had never thought about it, but I guess the sent is stronger after being cut because the moisture would be leaving the flower and that would give off more smell. Just a guess. though I think this poem is not accually asking that question, but one much more deep about the lives of people we know. Good thought provoking piece! The Shaker (You are a good writer of poetry. Who is your sister? )

Intriguing piece. I like the words that you have chosen to use in this piece. They are very much so open to the questioning that you have left us with. Thanks for sharing. Have a great time on AP. Tony.
