A Lover's Lullabye

Silence my darling, give ear to the breeze
That whispers its song within barren trees
It sings in a voice that is soft but so clear
And only the truest of hearts ever hear
Let eyes close and listen, so gentle the sound
In halls of the soul it will always resound
And tell of a passion that can't ever die
Meant only for you, a lovers lullaby

Come lay on a blanket of moonlight and lace
Where rose petals bow to your angelic face
And pay you no mind to the fools and the sages
Who say that no love can survive all the ages
For just as the breeze will cause wind chimes to dance
It gives flight to hopes of forever romance
Which soars in our hearts on the wings of a sigh
And allows us to hear its lovers lullaby

So sleep now my darling with sweetest of dreams
A rest so complete it your spirit redeems
With fairies and angels and rainbows so bright
And stardust and moonbeams that sparkle at night
For as the leaves swirl and the Autumn breeze blows
You'll be content knowing you are one of those
So blessed to have heard, without having to try
The voice in the wind, and its lullaby

Rakerman

The naturalness of the poem was at the heart of it and of love. I enjoyed your sweet simplicity.

I think the women all give him enough credit, so there's no worries there. But his is such a beautiful poem.. if it wouldn't give him a big head I'd say it was perfect. Someone should put it somewhere so it will get more reads, I agree.

You know, I don't know if you have a girlfriend, if you're married or what (and I know, it's none of my business ) BUT if you aren't and you wanted one...all you'd have to do is slip one of these love poems you write into her drink ~sighs and exhales...and sighs and exhales. ~SIGH. Beautiful penning my friend.
