The Colors Of Christmas

Missing image

The pine is decorated
satin ribbons and bows
adorn all the branches
express colors of prose

White is for snowflakes
a wonderland of snow
ice laden branches
reflecting winter's glow

Green is for evergreen
the pointed holly leaf
long Christmas garland
the front door wreath

Silver is for the chimes
bringing Christmas joy
foil wrapped presents
an eager girl and boy

Red is for the berries
strung around the tree
pretty wrapping paper
Santa suit, red it will be

Gold is for sleigh bells
going jingle in the night
a star shining for Jesus
to guide us with its light

nice poem. imagery is vivid and rhymes are well-put. i must say though that the background just gave me the biggest headache i've ever had. lol. i think it's just me but you should put a warning label on your header: Warning: people prone to seizures may not want to read this. haha. great poem nonetheless.

    oooh....I like the background..
    lol. sorry.
ok, I really liked this poem.
It had fantastic imagery in it.
What I really like about this poem is that it talks about the "media" version of Christmas, you know, Santa, wreaths, snow, presents...and then in the last two lines..
    "a star shining for Jesus
to guide us with its light"
It makes it about the birth of our Savior and how he will guide us.
    amazing job mom.
    keep it up.
    love, your ap daughter,

Good morning Sandy, this is a wonderful write, I love how you kept each stanza so compact, but full of enough wonderful descriptions to make such a nice poem. It flowed well and rhymed without a flaw....great read, thank you for sharing, have a beautiful day, Ken IBT
