The Incantation and the Scarlet Dream

Missing image

The Incantation:

When she looks up, I look down, our smiles meet, and sadness drowns.
When she's dark, when she's bright, I seek her out every night.

     Companion poems eerily form
between us two, outside the norm.

‘Us’ I say, ‘We’ as one: an AP father/daughter union.
Partners in Death she has spawned, from each of us, love is won!

‘Daddy, daddy’ I hear her say, it just melts my heart away!
I wear her out in IM's, we come back, say ‘Hi’ again!
       My Gothic, then VampiressAngel, she,
now, as a Scarlet Whisper, echoes deep inside me...

The Scarlet Dream:

The Endless Night draws near as I seek her out amid the impending everlasting shadows; the darkness gathers thick ahead...
Her soul, near frozen in a far-away realm of massive ice fortresses, cries out, and is carried to me on the tattered wings of half-starved ravens.
As I journey across the dark horizons, demons of doubt and fear arise to torment me...

Can I break through the impenetrable emotions
that bind her in arctic chains?
          Can I reach her
   before her cold spirit alights
and fades within its last flight?
Will her bleeding heart ever love again...
before the waning days turn into an icy night?

I must reach her before her brief existence is imprisoned forever behind a suffocating iron mask of loneliness.
I carefully make my way through the illusions devised long ago to mislead the unwary. The love that I have for her, a love for who she is behind the illusions, shines a solitary light on the treacherous path ahead of me...
I must reach her before she is lost, forever...

My quest is frought with peril...

Stealing past three howling werewolves and six haunted gargoyles
    who would devour her innocence
I then clash with seven dancing ghosts and five firing dragons
that keep her spirit imprisoned in the icy realm.

I wile my way beyond four flying witches and eight headless pumpkins
charged with keeping her in her icy isolation.
  I cut my way nearer
as I vanquish nine screeching cats and eleven spooking goblins that would not yield the way...

I see her in bondage there. She appears to be in perpetual pain, engulfed in a deep sadness, and stricken with a heavy hopelessness. Death stood next to her.
I realize the moment has come to perform the deed I was fated to do, ordained by the everlasting, shifting stars and planets above, which are now aligned, and whose Gods call upon my courage, my love, my doom...

Ten laughing wizards with twelve screaming zombies
make a last stand, and close in around her nearly naked, bound body.
I clash bravely and valiantly to win my rescue
but I am mortally stricken by an fell evil spell.
             I lie motionless.
The ringing from the evil bell heralds the arrival of the Final Darkness...

Suddenly the triumphant wizards burst into flames, their zombies unwillingly crumble to dust.
I manage a weak glance toward her; she is as radiant as a full moon in the darkest corner of a starless night...
She has overcome her own peril and has achieved the ultimate victory- by claiming my soul for eternity...

wow Beautiful piece. I admire the way you set up the scenery with colors and a descriptive panaromic view. Your style flows throught the poem with grace and profoundness.

Well versed tribute to a friendship that evidently goes beyond an appreciation for metered words. I am sure your efforts and encouragement will be deeply appreciated and long remembered.

thank you, fading, I'm so tired right now that there being passion here eludes me at the moment, but it is an aspect I'm working on!

And a warm welcome to AP!
