Clouded Day

The gift of clouded day is given me-
Yes, though the world seem like a dismal shroud,
Lord, let me not forget Your truths of old;
You came to them in pillar of a cloud.

These clouds, the very dust of holy feet,
These clouds that joined the tempest blowing wild;
The same that block the scorching rays of sun
And stir imagination in a child.

And some day, Lord, this shroud will rend apart,
Revealing glory great for all to see
The day You come for us.  O Lord, that's when
The gift of clouded day is given me.

Author notes

"...He guides our steps through all the tangled maze,
Of losses, sorrows, and/or clouded days..."

My landlord, who is more like a grandpa to me, died yesterday.  His soul is in Heaven with Jesus now... and though I'm very thankful to know that, I must admit that there's still sadness to go through... thus the "clouded day."

    Very nice. I hope it comes true, and the sooner the better. Sorry you lost Grandpa Harmon.

    Awesome write! This is expressed exquisitely well.

    As for the spiritual aspect, we need to remember the Lord coming for His own, where we are then reunited with those who have gone before us. We may not only feel grief, yet with hope, but we may be even a little envious for them getting to be with Jesus before us. Yet it is the sovereign and wise will of the Lord that these things happen. Precious in His sight are the death of His saints. He holds our breath in His hand.

    For your Landlady:
    Father God;

    You are the God of all comfort and You have comforted us through Your Son, Jesus, to save us from our sins. Thank You, Lord.

    We lift up Natalie's landlady and ask that You would provide comfort to her through Your Spirit. Grant Natalie the grace to be a comfort to her in her time of need. Let Natalie be like Jesus, being a spiritual oasis for her landlady, to Your glory.

    We thank You in advance. In Jesus' name-AMEN!

    God bless, sis! Go and minister to her.
