When thunder murdered sleep

The sound of thunder hovered through the night
The pacing rain showered down on earth to cleanse it.
Once a blossomed pine tree, now an imitation of the medusa
It reluctantly clashes against my sensitive window
The sounds shiver up my spine and awaken my soul.
A deep sigh carefully slides through my lips.
My eyes are widened and scared
In the pitch black darkness
Goosebumps kick in and my hands are ice cold.
The room’s temperature suddenly compares to that of Antarctica
I twist and turn but my sleep has long been murdered,
By the notorious sounds of the thunderstorm.
So, I rock myself back and forth
Trying to bring life back to my sleep
Struggling, until the thunderstorm finally shows mercy.
A sigh of relief doses out and my heart is again replenished
Falling back into my death-like sleep
My dreams once again take me on a journey around the world.

Good. I enjoy the suspense in the center of this poem. Very descriptive. Keep it flowing and good luck.
