green italics are from lavender shadows...
red standard are from wbiro
all stanzas were written on their respective days... which means a few days were missed in the hustle-bustle of the month... boohoo...
'Twas the first of December
and all through AP
we'll be leaving little merry Santa's
to spread happy cheer and great glee!

Welcome to December! she cries
As the first of 31 draws to a close,
Filling another’s page with hope
Of many more stanzas to compose!
T'was the second of December,
And homey author pages ignited
Poetic inspiration's embers
Within snowing messages united.
On the month's third day,
Rosy-cheeked smiles gleamed
From fresh snowflake's sleigh
Within eggnog-moustached dreams.
'Twas the fourth of December
and though almost, we did not forget
to share Holiday love
and spread Holiday bliss.
The 5th of December
brings the first snowstorm
so I cuddle in your virtual glow
to keep myself warm!
Past pumpkin hour in Cinderella's land
The Fifth yawned into the Sixth's wake
Spreading mischievous fairy dust like sand
Over snow-covered page's cranberry cakes.
'Twas the 6th day of December
and in the wee hour of the morn'
I sprinkle misbehaving fairy dust on your page
that was in the Christmas Spirit born...
‘Twas the 7th of December
and as a palindrome I make
I dream of senile felines
serenading cranberry snowflakes!
Just before the 8th settles in,
Frostbitten smiles crackle and flow
As nostalgic desire burns within
Thoughts wisping across iced snow.
Midnight stars
put on a show
to herald the 8th in
with a special glow!
December 9th- the first snow day
outdoor lights and front-door wreathes
Christmas trees on top of cars
Christmas shoppers underneath.
~*~
Indoor decorations out
from Vancouver to Atlanta
Christmas cookies baked by mama
fiber-optic glowing Santa’s.
~*~
nutcrackers with glowing teeth
holly-berried Christmas trees
neon pine-cones, glowing candles
resin cast Nativity scenes.
~*~
caroling Snowmen, but best of all
mistletoe over you and me!
As the tenth was slowly dawning,
Creative blitzes surged and fumed
Whilst typing fingers were yawning
Through word collages bloomed.
Fourteen more nights before tiptoed glee
Sips milk and cookies from midnight’s plate
For now last-minute shoppers wait to flee
Dancing yuletide merry from party’s date
~*~
Haphazardly, she sits on 11th’s lap
Waiting for eggnog-sipped tales
As fantasies envelop in Christmas wrap
Surreal moments in vivid detail.
2:15am on the 12th of December
as Santa's reindeer softly sleep;
they have hay in their stables
but they're out when they're able
so when they land on your roof
they stay light on their feet...

A happy December 13th I send to a friend
as the snow on the ground lingers past 1:30am
to light up our night with a lovely white glow
as the nights in Christmas Cards are forever shown...
‘Tis the 15th of December
the 14th has zipped
without a stanza
to immortalize it.
~*~
I remember it well
in the wee morning hour
“Later” I mused
“will a fitting tribute flower...”
~*~
Alas, 'later' came,
“Right after this nap!”
I promised myself
as I donned my Santa cap.
~*~
I awoke to the 15th,
the 14th was gone.
“It will stand as a testament
to all that goes wrong!”

Swirling through “Jingle Bells” phase,
Yuletide merriment sprints through smiles
Merging 13-14-15-16 soon into a haze
Time spreads across gift’s busy aisles.
‘Twas December 16th and I’m out on the job
a cold night of many stars and clear skies up above
a verse comes to me out of the blue,
“A joyous Noel from me unto you!”

‘Twas sometime between days,
16th sleeping, though 17th not yet awake
When a greeting sung was merely a phrase”
seven more nights until Christmas Break.
‘Tis the 17th of December, the nights are getting long
I send my fluffy ball of Chrissiness a Carol and a song-
~*~
“May the merry bells keep ringing
to keep your spirits glowing
and the snow drifts reach your window
as you see it is still snowing!”
“One week until Christmas!”
my lavender one proclaims,
and what did she ask Santa for,
new socks, a bowling ball, video games?
~*~
Or does she just want a moment peace
from a hectic existence?
‘Tis the season that it should come
to this piece de resistance!
~*~
(and from friendly sales assistants!)
(and from uncooperative Christmas lights
that give in to my utter persistence!)
SEven daYs UntIL a MerrY ChrisTMas!
Yay!
Momentarily, she paused from her sleeping break
To come say "hi" to the 18th, while it was still here
Shouting "one week left until Christmas wakes",
Even though now many weeks have sung holiday cheer.
The 19th has flown, the 20th here
happiness and sadness mix with the cheer
days slip by in this cold winter season
darkness and light come beyond our reason
~*~
If, by small chance, I had a wish, then I’d pray
that this month of December had just one happy day
The days shorten as the countdown pursues-
Christmas only has to wait 6, 5, 4
Through 2005 solstice's snowing hues
...Fading until another stanza soars.

The countdown continues as the 22nd closes:
Gleeful surprises wait behind wrapped sheets
As gingerbread fantasies incite trained noses...
Only two more snowy nights until Santa sneaks!
Two days before Christmas
and lavender and I
have throughout the month come together here
It’s time, I say to spread some love
and send to others our Holiday Cheer!
~*~
Well, I’ve been up the entire month now
and this is the cheer I’ve sent around:
|
Hello, Wanda! (Night Hope)
![]() Hello drinking buddies! (Mr. Vertigo)
|

Christmas Eve now,
and as the time draws near
it's no time to stop
spreading yuletide cheer...

‘Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through AllPoetry and beyond
Gleeful messages exchanged blessings
Sprung from anticipated St. Nick’s wand.
MeRrY ChRisTMaS! Ho! Ho! Ho!

Christmas Day-
Filled with kids’ smiles and family hugs,
It’s come at last this Christmas Day!
As love unwraps gifts under a tree,
Hungry stomachs await a turkey buffet!
‘Tis the wee hours of Christmas Day
the biggest holiday of the year
presents are spread under the tree
Christmas cheer for you and me
yet I can’t help but remember that
it’s also a time to shed a tear
for those who lost a loved one dear
and those who have no family here
my heart is with them much today
as I spend this special holiday
in my postcard-perfect world.
~*~
I’d trade it all to share a smile
with someone a bit less fortunate
for here I’ve come to see that all
is not quite postcard-perfect yet.
December 27th finds us between
a Christmas past and a brand new year
I have rain, you have a snowy scene
and we send a Holiday greeting across this strange frontier!

December 27th,28th,29th
As December 27 28 29 swirl past,
I lay far from my computer, phased
Wanting to send you this message
But alas I must wait a few more days.

December 30th rolls around
dreamy is the Holiday
Things and things and things abound
I remember when I didn’t have anything.

December 31st-
The last moments of December & 2006
Creep into another stanza, nearly done
Seeping up the joy this month has brought
From these little messages passed, one by one.
The last day of December, the last day of the year
the last hours to remember the moments we held dear.
Entwined were two souls, their love went long unspoken
and as the bells of New Year's midnight tolled their silence was then broken.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ **~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Of the broken silence they turned and gathered all the pieces
and carefully reassemble a love that only a cherished silence releases.
Two hearts can then remember, in the absence of intervening sound
the times they shared together in simple love profound.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ **~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The silence now collected, their love now resurrected
and in the presence of noiseless sounds their eyes are now reflected
by two hearts so affected and with one touch they detected
the love that so completely surrounds two hearts which are forever bound.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ **~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2005 has crumbled into ashes gray and minute dusts
that slowly settle and are then packed tightly within the earth’s ever aging crust.
Two hearts together dance away, gliding over the frozen ground
and as they shared old memories, 2006 has come around...
Happy New Year!
in collaboration with lavender shadows
I don't have them all from my holiday either, but I do have a few... I too don't think it right to "fill in the blank days", it just doesn't seem right. I like it that way as well.
j/k in all actuality I think you did a wonderful job on this and it was nothing short of a pure pleasure to read! thank you for taking the time to enter and good luck!
