If I was art
You'd stare at me
Linger, while I swallowed your eyes
So you could see
A soul exposed, unclothed
The creation of eternity
Sketched within a dream
I unfold, feel and bleed
Draw the shadows in-between
The lines of living color
Like a lover lies uncovered
Before you, slicing up the light
Shaded over just enough
To mystify your sight
And make you wonder
If I was art
And you were interpretation
What would I be saying
Under my breath
What would I be creating
On the canvas of your common sense
-Your wildest imagination
What might I suggest
With each stroke delicate
And randomly adrift
-If

Ok, now I want to be art. Can I be art? You are a really talented writer, I can see why you are publishing a book!
excellent poem, it really grabbed my attention and pulled me into images and impressions that you painted.

nice. wonderful idea to compare yourself to art itself. i have never thought of that... have you ever read something someone else wrote and thought, "god, i should've thought of that." ... well yeah... that's what's going on here.. great write!

Jeri combs and con slots...
The drifting dimness dances around inside, glittering each dominant exercise with a hint of hyssop and a backward glance over a softly-toned shoulder. The soul exposure drips like tender mercies from finger tips in a midnight range of wandering tone clefs. The feathered content of this word protrait reflects your artful variation in the moxie-driven paint schemes of intangible colors. Wondering what you’d be saying under your breath… ~ Ed -
great!
I like this a lot....the imagry is fantastic...wonderfully done.
I look forward to reading more off your work soon! -
Poets are artists in their own way, so I think you are art in this poem. Interesting perspective.

GREAT IDEA! This is so interesting, and really well-written. I love the comparison between art, the human emotions thrown into it, and how we actually interact with one another.

Great
This is a very poignant poem. I love how the poem is posed as a question and how you tapped into the relationship between life and art, love and art and our attitudes toward their effect. -
this makes me want to ride a rumbling bike
to a gallery of colorful lubricated expression
to paint pieces with piece and other bits of epidermal joy -
Very good!
I really like the concept of this work. For me, the art is already expression of an interpretation and obsevers then in turn express their own interpretation. This you acknowledge brilliantly in...
If I was art
And you were interpretation
What would I be saying
Under my breath
What would I be creating
The idea of personalities as art is fascinating.
I sense that you've put a lot of thought into this poem. It is very, very good.

This seems impressionistic to me,
and yet the possibilities...
