Never Christmas (Tanka)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What would life be like
If Christmas didn’t exist?
Forever Winter,
Never the day of Christmas.
Jesus Christ would not have come.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Author notes

This is my first tanka that I've written. I planned on writing a poem like this, but I was planning on it being much longer. I might write another one just because I have a lot of ideas for it.

Tanka is a classic form of Japanese poetry related to the haiku with five unrhymed lines of five, seven, five, seven, and seven syllables. (5, 7, 5, 7, 7)

    If Christmas never had come...then we wouldn't be as innocent in young times. We wouldn't know innocense at all, we wouldn't know peace...nothing like that.

    Ahh...this is great. Thank you so much for making me read it.Didn't describe as well as the japanese do, but you have your style..and your style is wonderful for you.

Although winter is my favorte season the way you use it could be not only an image but also a feeling, forever a cold harsh reality or life, a life of death (since most people associate winter with death) very beautiful poem! Very well written and the wording is simply wonderful! Great Job Tim, as usual it is a pleasure to read your work!
