Seasons change like the time of day,
So does the feeling from one to the next,
From the days of summer that are for the dogs,
To the frost of the cold winter nights.
The heat of the summer is much fun to many youth,
Enjoying the neverending days of the summer sun,
Not a concern in the world about the risks at hand,
Just enjoying the elegance of the blue sky around.
Those summer nights can be brutal at times,
The air so heavy you can hardly breathe,
Neverminding the fact that the nights are so short,
Watching and waiting for the sun to rise again.
The days of winter are just more pleasant,
If you don't mind it being so cold,
That you'd rather just stay at home,
Enjoying the scene that the season creates.
Those winter nights are so brutal to many,
Getting so cold you can barely stand it,
Turning up the heat so you can stay warm,
As the nights get longer as the season tears on.
The seasons are different yet alike in many ways,
The nights are unbearable but sometimes pleasant,
Once the sun emerges from beyond the horizon,
The days are pleasant one in the same.
Author notes
I just loved writing about nature and especially if you can give it some meaning which I think is really cool.

H,
As a nature poem, it is really excellent.
But, as mentioned in contest, meaning is not very clear.
Best wishes and good luck,

Yeah, this IS a really good write. I see what you mean about giving it meaning. Because, if you look at the changing seasons as a metaphor, comparing it to how life changes, it's really deep. I like it alot. Wonderful work.

Lovely poem about nature.
It is snowing here and it was hard to get out of bed. I can stand cold because you can put on enough clothes to keep warm. Sometimes you can't take off enough in the summer and be decent outside the house. But this is why the seasons come and go as they should you captured this feeling very well.
