I was addicted to your laugh
And your embrace, so warm and tight,
But now your arms tear me in half.
I can't last an entire night
Downright in the fetal position
Gripped like a pillow (suffocation)
Please save me by not being there
Please help me by letting me breathe.
Desire ruled my life for
Two years with an iron fist.
It stood proud and loud and roared
The king of all unrealized trists.
How I wished for love and bliss
Each day that I spent alone
Hands atrophied from no use
They might as well have turned to stone
But you somehow set this statue
Back to life, the blood started flowing.
In your eyes, I thought I knew
Exactly where you would be going,
Taking my hands, now throbbing, warm.
Everything bout you dripped with love
You'd be my shelter from the storm
And any cliche I can think of.
I may be quick, but you "be faster"
Opened me up in sixty minutes.
You punched through me like I was plaster
Paralyzed by your *sweet* laughter
You kept going til I was tired
Without anything, no feelings, desire,
I'm a zombie without my spirit
I tried to tell you but you wouldn't
Hear it.
I never found a pace I
Couldn't keep up with, til today.
You stared at me and watched me "die"
Several times as I lay still
Motionless, emotionless.
You broke me without breaking
You shoke me without shaking
You took me without taking.
Author notes
This is what comes out of writing a paper on someone who kept having sex til she was left without an identity...interesting eh?

Great job
I wrote Jane Eyre poems, you write a Wide Sargasso Sea poem. I started this thinking it was you, which would have made it very interesting, but I then tought you were comparing yourself to Antoinette, and now I know it's all about Antoinette. With, perhaps, a few parallels to you. Great job, full of expression. I'm unsure how I feel about how that character was handled in the book, but you certainly got it right here. Great job. -
Deep, with a trufull meaning. Nicely done.
