my lament

some say

it is better to have loved

and lost

than to have never loved at all.

i beg to differ, friends.

i loved once,

i lost.

i loved a second time,

again i lost.

i have walked a million miles of barren desert

i have traveled through the blistering cold.

i have cried and screamed until my voice was lost.

but still

still...

this predicament is too great

too deep

too completely insane.

some say it is better to have loved and lost

than to have never loved at all.

i beg to differ.
