Yes, you have to make eye-contact.

Look at me.
Yes, you have to make eye-contact.
I don't know what you see,
but I hope you catch me at my best,
in one of those few moments when I'm glowing,
doing what I'm supposed to be doing,
and joyful in my day.
I'm afraid to let you see deeper,
but in a terrifying way,
I want you
to sense my pain,
my disappointment,
my daily struggles,
my neediness,
and help me.
I need you.

All I could see was the backs of your retina. So that's where you keep the pictures of Lincoln, Ghandi and Phyllis Diller. Very creative. Eye contact - what you see is what you get. ~ EZB
