Love Is Many Things

Missing image

Love is the emotion we were created from
two souls blending together to become one
whether it be from a marital commitment
or one night of having pleasurable fun

Love's emotions can create such fantasies
that often slip into our dreams of desire
love can affect you like addicting drugs
fueling passions as it fuels the fire

True love should come with commitment
to be lasting and endure through life
to be blessed by God in holy matrimony
blessing the union of husband and wife

True Love should stand the test of time
and be able to climb the highest hill
two souls connecting on the highest plain
living their lives according to God's will

Love has no boundaries it touches everyone
from the moment we are born till we die
it's scars can leave you quite devastated
make you so happy that it makes you cry

One thing for sure, it is worth the risk
you may get your heart broken in two,
there is something special when you hear
those three little words "I love you"

Author notes

It's so easy to say hello to love  but so hard to say goodbye.

Hey, Sandy. Loved it. Nice graphics. I was drawn by your tag line "Love is the emotion we were created from..."; a truth. God is love, He created us from love; there fore we should be love. Being love is one thing; falling in love is another. Emotion as opposed to existence. Wonderful background. Like your free style; still a little punctuation wouldn't hurt. Like musical notes and rests, punctuation helps us in reading the piece. Guess I am old fashioned. But then, who is to say? Still, I loved it. Like the "three little words" line. Women do like those words. Men on the other hand are more carnal. We find it hard to say "I love you." But will bust our butts in doing for the one we admire and love. Too bad. Once tasted; the flower should be nurtured. Alas, most guys don't; it's what you suggested "pleasurable fun". Tks for the lovely poetry.

    Great

Your interpretation of love made me smile. You just about summed it all up. And I got to agree with you; those three little words mean so very much. Hope to read more of your work.
