Horses

Missing image
As morning mist rolls over the land
Tinged red with the rising sun
Two horses at play on this fresh sunny day
Are intent on having some fun!
They gallop along at breakneck speed
Then drop it right back to a canter
They whinny and neigh..in their curious way
Its their way of sharing some banter
Their coats are all glossy shiny and sleek
Their muscles and tendons show proud
They gambol and frolic they play hide and seek
I would run with them...if only allowed
One day in the future..if Horses could speak
If we asked them...they'd tell us straight out
Theres no secrets untold...we're all part of the fold
Horses know what Lifes all about!

Lovely! You may have never been near a horse (we're gonna change that!)but you write like you know them well.

Wow. You have taken me on that canter. I fel the ryhthm of the single-footer that was my first best friend. Once, in an interview about my writing, I was asked where i got my cadence. I said, "On theback of my horse, when I was little." This is truly a beautful, light, wistful piece for me. It evokes sweet, fond memories I hold very dear. If tht hrose of mine ocudl speak, what tales she would ahve told. She taught me many things in life...unconditional love between specieis is one. thank you for this lovely light and frolicing poem.

Nicely crafted little jaunt into fun! Seems like we could learn alot from most animals on how to simply enjoy life, and being that which we are. Glad I read this.

Oh, Lomhar, this is so nice. I'm not a horse person, either, but I've always been fascinated by them. Your poem did them
    great justice. Shancy.

    Amazing Visualisation

You are a Horse Whisperer and what you wrote is simply beautiful at one with nature and its proud and clever creatures.Wild and free and the imagery gives the feel of their sinewy bodies as they fly with grace and precision.I have dogs and parrots and agree they could tell us more than we could ever know if only they could speak. This Poem should be read to children for they too are wiser than we.I feel like gambolling and rolling in the grass.Such a refreshing, delightful write.

    Light-hearted

This is so much fun and has a great feel to it. I havn't looked at the line structures in any depth because when I read it the first time it created a great rhythm for me instantly - I don't want to take it apart and look any deeper because it has such tremendous flow the way I read it naturally. The rhyme is consistant and the whole thing has a light-hearted feel. I enjoyed it very much.
I love horses too, and wrote a few horse poems when I was in my teens, but I don't think I have them anymore. Ho Hum.

    Take care.

This is so well written! Well Done, I love the flow and the rhyming is good too. You have managed to capture the power and the magnificence of these incredible animals through a true love and understanding of the species. Keep on penning friend, you have what it takes! ~Dini~

    Lomhar;
Horses is full of color and movement. One image sweeps to the next. From your wonderfully descriptive style we're taken from the misty, rose colored dawn, to the excitement of galloping horses. Excellent, vivid, images throughout. Title, layout and background lend themselves nicely too!

Yeah, horses are pretty smart. My mom loves horses. Good work with this, it has great imagery, horses bounding across fields. It's dedicated to someone, that's cool. Good job. Oh, never mind, someone featured it for you, ok.

According to the chinese horoscope I was born in the year of the Horse 1954...I have always felt an affinity to these wonderful creatures who of course assisted Man greatly in his journeys across the world and also in taming his environment...sadly there are so many incidences of these beautiful animals being illtreated by unfeeling and uncaring human beings...it makes me feel ashamed to belong to the human race at times...but then their are others who do all in their power to redress the balance a little!...once more I am indebted to you for your encouraging and inspirational remarks on my writing...I thank you for taking the time to read my work and praise it so highly!...my regards and respect...Dan
