I Miss You

I miss you so much
That i am really depressed

I know that you are
looking down on us all from heaven but it still don't help.

You were there for me when my
real father was mad at mom.

You helped grandma take care of me
for i was you oldest grandchild

I miss you so much that whenever
I think about you i want to cry.

I know that you would have loved
to see how i have grown up.

I also know that you
would have loved to see Krystal growing up as well

I may not have many memories of
you but that's because you had to go when i was young

When you left grandpa everyone was upset
including me because i thought of you as a father figure in my life

Mom is still hurt that you are gone and so
is Krystal for she was only maybe 2 or 3 when u died

But you will be missed bye everyone
but sometimes i think i miss you the most

I miss you so much grandpa that i wish you
were here right now so that i could give you a giant hug

I will always remember you as a great grandfather
to have had and i know that you will always be in my heart.

To you Clarence Wadel born January 21 1926
Died: January 13 1992
of a minor heart attack just 8 days before his next birthday

I can so relate, I lost my grandfather many years ago he was the only father figure I ever had as a child I miss him so much. I am sorry for your loss. Then a year ago this past September we lost my husbands father who was like my own dad our daughter Jasmine is so close to him and was not even 3 I am so sorry that she will grow up without him there in her life, but I know in my heart that he will always be watching over us from Heaven. Thanks for sharing part of your heart and congrats on the gold well deserved. hugs Theresa

Oh, I so know how you feel!

I miss my loved ones who have passed over too. My grandparents and my mother mainly. It seems that everyone that I loved and felt connected to the first half of my life are on the other side now.

It feels like I am living another life now. I have my kids; and they are my family. I just wish they could have known their grandmother. *sigh*

    Thank you for sharing.

The pain of loss is never an easy thing- but you don't lose the love or wonderful memories. Keep writing about those you love- live your life and cherish those around you.
    This is touching and sweet.
All best to you and your family.

    GOOD

Quite an unusual poem at a time when the young generation doesn't want to bother about the elders. The author's words are so sincere, the poem shows that the feelings expressed are genuine and that is a really good news for the old people who hang on to life very precariously towards the fag end of their life. Old age and its attendant sufferings are natural, but what is painful is to live unloved and uncared by near and dear ones.

This is a great poem, but sad. Sorry for your loss. I know how you feel, as to I lost my Grandmother also when I was young. Don't be to down on yourself. Life will get better.

life is a road of dates and time some times you want to stay a hotel and just be with everyone you love forever, but on these roads there is no where to stop and there is no way to walk backwards you have to keep going no matter how tired or depressed you are. Like in my poem "Where your cross is...", "I stood in the day I had been in and just waited for you to walk with me and leave yesterday behide but you have no more raod to walk on so your trapped in yesterday" loss is hard but if you remember that some one else hurts like you and that you're ot alone then maybe you'll find the strength to keep on walking

    Dear poetess,
reading your poem and one of the comments left reminds me that poetry is always written by an individual according to experience and imagination, then read by other individuals who will comment according to their own experience and imagination.
If a poem is entered into a contest and I spot typo's or feel may offer a positive suggestion then I try to do that in the same way that I, myself, would like to recieve it and take into account presentation, category, content, intent, imagery, poetic devices, title, whether the poem has relied on the addition of a picture or paints a picture with words,if there is originality.
I am far, far from being an expert, I simply appreciate poetry and the effort that a poet puts into a poem when they write something so,so personal,as you have done outweighs for me any suggestions I could offer.
The presentation, within the form of couplets, added to the sense of closeness felt towards your beloved Granpa, the almost child-like voice within the poem was not childish, they are two completely different things.
I was very moved by the memories made by the man still missed and perhaps one of the highest tributes we pay our lost loved one's is to not forget them, but to keep their memory alive within the heart.
Your poem reminded me of both my Granpa's now sadly not with me,both very different men but both were made out of moulds that were broken and never to be made again.
The title is effective as an introduction, as the intent of the poem and as a summary. I was taken to the private place within me where I store my own memories and made misty eyed by reading what is obviously written with sincerity.
    God Bless your Grandpa.

I know this is an honorarium to your grand dad. At least go back over and spell check it. It's sweet, but it sounds like you're trying to imitate a much lesser poet.
I always have trouble with writing really personal pieces. You want to be sincere and genuine as possible. Proper spelling and grammar though are still important.
Don't make simple avoidable mistakes. They take away from the reader the feeling of the piece.
