A Soldier's Oath
A Soldier's life...sometimes filled with dangers
most times filled with strife
The endless battles between what's wrong or right
On one hand is their Oath
making them do things they will sometimes loath
Then deep inside there's the pride
of doing what is right.
The tears of families when they must part
strike deep inside a Soldier's heart
But still they must pick up and go
while all the time they know
their thoughts are with their loved ones
waiting patiently at home
Yet still they make these sacrifices
for those they leave behind...
and for those they've yet to meet
Because they took that Oath
to keep our Nation Free
