You may never know the reason
That I did what I did.
You may never understand
The tears that hide behind my mask.
You may never feel
The pain that's broke my heart in 2.
You may never see
The hurt that the world has caused.
The girl you see before you
Is an effect of years of hidden pain.
But far within my heart and soul
Lies a thing called hope.
A hope
For a brighter day.
A hope to become
What I once was.
A hope
That you'll forever be by my side
To help me through life
And to hold my hand
For all eternity.

Brilliant piece of writing
Yes, you must always have 'HOPE.' Because 'Hope' springs eternal in life. No matter how bad the situation, there is always, always 'Hope.'
This piece is full of pain. The writer is trying - in her own way - to explain just exactly why she did what she did - whatever that may have been.
There is a lot of suffering going on in this poem. It shines through like a beacon. It is sad, yet flows effortlessly across the screen. Easy on the eye.
Another thing I like about this piece is that you can 'FEEL' the suffering of the writer as well, pouring out. Brilliant piece of writing. Well done.
