Winter's Wonderland

Biting winds drifting snow,
blanket covers late autumn.
Sunlight filter clouded glow,
nature's sedated winter laudanum.

Beneath the turf lies in wait,
tulip and crocus sleeping sprout.
Until warming solar shine awakes,
from springtime's yawn peeking out.

Field and stream will be purified clean,
as we sit snuggled tight watching winter's delight.

Some wonderful imagery in this one,
bringing forth winters beauty and a soft touch reminding us that springtime is only sleeping.
    Wonderful penning

    Awesome!!!

this is such a wonderful poem. you show such great imagery in it and there is so much emotion in it. Im not a fan of the inwter months, but after reading this, it put me in another perspective of winter. I also love ths pic that goes along with the poem. It gives the reader the image about the poem and gives it color. I think you are an awesome writer. Keep writing great poems and chekc mine sometime.

    Love Always,

    Beautiful Poem

This is such a refreshing, beautiful write suseann... I hate the winter months, because the days are so short, yet there is always at the back of my mind that beneath the cloak of winter's frosts there are already bulbs and shrubs that are preparing themselves to show their beauty once again when Spring finally does come again. I love the graphic you have used for this particular poem, it goes so well with the background you have chosen... Well Done!

Beautiful, there is some colourful imagery here, a different, yet startelingly real interpretation of winter, well done. I like this version of the colder season, it's comforting. I like winter, and it's apparent you have a soft spot for it too! Well done!
