Winter Storm

the evening settles in
an ice within my chest
my salvation come and gone...

the rain pours down

beating me to the ground

i walk alone
as the weeks go by
and it's never quite the same...

the hail lashes out

it's white bullets puncture me

this is my plea
i need you back
what was is now lost...

the lightning tears across the sky

and drives a stake through the center of my heart

i hope you're happy now
you've got the life i lived
now you walk my footsteps...

the thunder collides in the clouds

it penetrates my ears

time and again i heard
"you don't understand how i feel"
but let me tell you, i've never felt so alone...

the windshield wipers can't keep up

then suddenly... it stops

now it's my turn to say
yes, i do understand
but don't you remember...

the glaring lights

reflect into my tear-stained eyes

i know i did this to you...
but does that make it right?
is this some kind of revenge?

the storm goes on...

the storm crashes on...

please

come back to me.

don't make me do this alone.
