Looking through the pages of my only book
I glance of the memories should I take another look
Faces of before I recall,
yet there was a time when I had it all
I turn a page and almost cry
a picture of you saying you'll never die.
A part of my life you took when you left
A great piece of my heart I gave when I wept
A promise you made and a secret was kept
Just a tear but then a smile
For the best times I think awhile
You loved your life straight to the end
I treasure your memories forever friend
Piece by piece a page withers away
through memories fade you're in my heart till my dying day.
In your grave upon earth's floor
you soul is released to heavens door
I close the book and wipe my eyes
Life goes on but a memory never dies
I often wonder if you look down on me and see pages in my book are forever
