Denial is a sweet virtue
Kept beneath this thin layer of promised sanctity
Which holds the great militia at bay
For we pray and we pray
For this grotesque battle to end
In the day
In The Day
In the day's first light we plead
For this mistake of a judgement to end
And death rejoices at the body count that we convey
So we win
And they all give in
For the desire of Essences that they hold
In their hands that lay with their guns and the blood,
Shed like the tears of the wives of the men that
WON'T be coming home
As the flag is thrown to the ground
We celebrate for the sweet virtue we are blind to
And happy to hold the extinct freedom we believe is still in place
And then we watch the screen flash like our wasted lives
To be thought of as nothing in the future's eyes.

Author notes
I wrote this for the current events on the war in Iraq and how America is blinding us with the damned television while they do whatever the hell they can to control the world and us and get as rich as possible while doing it.

In the futures eyes, we will be nothing but a bunch of power hungry hypocrites. I loved this, good luck in the contest!
