but sometimes I don't get it.

Sometimes it's easier to just think about the good times,
but you will say something that cuts me back down to size.

It seems like to me you are trying to back out of all these mixed emotions.
Good guys all the time, we have to try harder. Bad guys never try, but seem to go farther.
Relationships shouldn't be hard.
You fall in love,
you fall in love or just break it off.
Why does it feel like I have to try?

This was okay. But the rhythm isn't even. You could separate the long lines into their own individual ones. I know some poems have this format, but it doesn't seem to go with this poem. And even though the format is the repetitive type, try not to make it sound redundant... You can do this. But I loved the sincerity of it.
