In Memory

The first winter begins,
While a chapter of our loneliness turns a page.
As the fingerprints left in the dust,
forgotten by time, and darkened by the settling of night air
    Our lovely, picture-framed memories
become laden with the same passing.
saddened by the memory, yet terrified of forgetting
Your name is lost in the cadency of shattered whispers,
    which speak of past possibilities
As tongues silence and the pacing stills,
                      I pray:
Let us not misplace your memory beneath the frozen earth,
but place it before our lives each day

We Love You Shawna
Forever Always,
   Brianna

i think about that stuff all the time, how once no one could speak with out mentioning her passing, now there isn't so much of as whisper of her existance, and it is quite unsettling to me. I am glad to know we share some of the same thoughts. kisses and love forever.

I want to visit her tomorrow, but I have no car, and I'm not even sure where she's burried. A long time ago she was one of my best friends; it's time I went to say goodbye. Mostly I can only picture her laughing with her whole body, but I remember other things too, when we talked about joining the wrestling team together until we realized we would be in the same weight class, a poem she gave me that said she'd always be there for me, when she said if I died she'd kill herself, studying spanish together, but mostly I see her laughing.

I haven't read a poem from you in a long time. This is so sad. It's always hard losing someone and sometimes we fear that the memory of them will be erased in time. It's great to see you writing again.
