I can easily
And carelessly
Overlook important things
In this world,
In the nature of things,
In the written Word.
Little things like
Love-
Mercy-
Forgiveness.
Would judge the cover
By the book if I
Could only hear the directions.
So many things I assume to know
In blatant human ignorance.
What is my outward appearance?
Sinner?
Saint?
Whiner?
Does it tell you anything
About my heart?
This heart,
This placeful space
Where heaven and earth
Beat as one with our
Creator.
Not nearly shallow as the mind.
Satan knows his way
Into the mind.
It's where he paints
His seeds of
Pride and overblown
Importance.
Where he nurtures fear
Blinding us
To minimizing our
Own transgressions for
Glare of our brothers
High beams of hell
And aggravation.
Who is my brother?
You are.
Each and every one of you
A varying concept of my Creator
With hearts that
Only God knows.
Author notes
1 Samuel 16:7b The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

First, the font color does show up well on the background.
Second, you have delivered a beautiful rendering of I Samuel 16:7. My entry took on a similar yet different approach.
Would that everyone realized that a book's cover is nothing more than a soiled garment, revealing only where one has been but not revealing how they came to be where they now are in life. As the Lord saith, only the heart is the context of the book and therein wisdom lies to those who believe and obey. Best wishes in the contest, poet!
