i have a man in my life who treats me like an queen
he ask me to marry him and gave my a ring
he is responsible and loves me dearly my son too
he calls us all the time and when he says goodbye its i love you boo
this man has a job
doesn't have a record although my heart he did rob
he says yes ma'am and no Sir
in my eyes his color is a blur
his friends are not thugs
and he doesn't sell drugs
my our first date
i looked into his eyes and i could tell we are soul mates
he cooks for me and rubs my back
with this man i feel high like i am on crack
he is not a woman beater and doesn't talk smack
we go to church to find forgiveness for the lords word i lack
this man is my everything my fairy tail dream
but what my family thinks makes me scream
they don't even want to see him for he is black
and for me loving him they think i am wack
they say my child and if i have one with him it wont have a race
my child is adorable but she can't stand to look at his face
this hurts me so bad
my mother was my everything and this makes me sad
with his good heart he says they will turn around
and with out my mothers consent he wont marry me and this makes me frown
another love of mine will probably be in the grave
but at what cost, it is out of my hands and him i cant save
they burn crosses in my front yard
i know that our path is going to be hard
i love this man and won't let him go without a fight
just because some white people think our love isn't right!!!

Very powerful and poignant piece! I don't understand people who think they know what's right or wrong for you; only God is our judge and jury in ANY situation! I very much enjoyed reading this; thank you for sharing and for entering my contest!

A statement of love!
IF you know, without the shadow of a doubt that he's the man for you. And you look inside your soul and hear God's voice telling you this. Then you'd be a fool not to snag this guy. My spirit is never at rest. I am always divided inside. But if you see love. And you know it is right, then take it.
We don't discriminate between blonds and brunettes, between day and night, or between grapes and apples. Why should we discriminate against black and white people?
(Just commenting on one of your pieces for the contest. And I'm glad I clicked)

very good
I say you can't help who you fall in love with no matter thier color of skin. its the person that counts not their color. some people just suck and need to get over their old time ways. this is 2005 and now its on of the most normal things you see everyday. so i say go with your heart and marry the man you love no matter what. true love will always be on your side even when others aren't. -
perfection
love is love is love...love is ultimately blind and you can't help who you fall in love with. love knows no colors whatsoever and unfortunately humans are so immature and petty. the world has a lot of growing up to do and it makes me sad that people just won't accept what really is. and it is even harder when your own family won't accept the one you love. Just don't give up and cherish the moments you have with your loved one and make them count.
To get to the point: fuck everyone else and love who you want to love.
i added you to my favorites -
man! you can marry who ever the hell you want. ya know what i bet ya there were a bunch of lords who got together to see if we could all live together. if your white and he's black you love eachother tell everyone else to fuck off. because it doesn't matter what they say
anyway good luck great write.
