A Morning At The Lake

Me, in snuggled in my blanket
Sipping my morning coffee
Taking in nature's bounty
Admiring the painted canvas
Of mother nature in all her glory
Submerging into the beauty of
Dew drops kissing the trees
The misty fog creeping back
From which it came
As a pair of majestic swans swim past
Watching as they gracefully dive
And once again resurface
In the distance
Many a bird sing a song
Of sweet welcomes to a new day
Smiling as my eye catches the children
Skipping rocks and causing ripples
Tiny foot prints in the sand
Slowly disappear beneath
The caressing touch of the tide
Half built sand castles remain
From the previous days endeavours
Fishing poles left on the dock
Where a small boat
Rocks gently awaiting it's next voyage
The sweet scent of pine lingers in the air
Carried upon the soft morning breeze
Alone I sit taking it all in
Losing myself in this masterpiece
Of enchanting exquisiteness

I so enjoyed this poem. I have done this at my home in the country. I don't have a lake though just a small creek that runs behind the house. I have the birds and pine scent too.Great write.

I simply sat back and let it take me away. In turn I simply wrote what I experienced on that journey. I am glad you enjoyed it.

intriguingly soft spoken but amazingly enough you went beyond the picture and gave it life
