they break your heart,
tear you apart and leave you a scar.
I hate Leos...
they promise love,
give you a shove--
and that's how they are.
...And I know that when you die,
I'll dance upon your grave--
I'll look down south and say my prayers,
as I ride this crashing wave.
And I know you were never real to me, true to me,
but can we up the irons one last time
before we turn away and say...
that it's just grown too, too late?
I hate Leos...
they pick you up,
they push you down and kick you around.
I hate Leos...
they play on lust,
sex is a must--
give it or rust.
And I know that when you die,
I'll dance upon your grave--
you shot my open heart point-blank
after all the love I gave.
Metal's strong, but once it bends it's weak
and it won't last quite as long...
so can we bang these heads just one last time
before we're through once and for all?
Just because it's too, too late...
but is it really worth all this hate?
I cannot help but wonder
through all this rain and thunder,
did you ever see my eyes?
I kept the music playing
so you couldn’t hear me praying
that it would drown out all your lies...
It takes much more than powerchords
to keep me in your bed--
it takes much more than you can give me,
to keep you in my head.
Like a dove shot out from the blue sky
just as it learned to fly,
we hold this broken friendship dead in hand,
as through it slips like sand--
each grain a stain upon my mind...
Let’s face the music, we’re starting to unwind.
Author notes
This was a song that I wrote after...well, let's call it a horrid break-up. No, I don't really hate Leos.
The reason why there's a lot about music in these lyrics is because heavy metal was the main thing that our relationship revolved around. I never really finished this song, music-wise, but there IS a tune to it. Once I get a new mic, I might upload some of it and link to it...if I don't get lazy.
P.S. - the phrase "up the irons", it's an Iron Maiden thing.
