My eyes start to wander in quiet pursuit
As the window pane clears of the smokey dew
The leaves on the ground have turned to amber
And autumn blossoms take on a dark hue
The changing tides that my life has known
Have seen the spring and the summer wane
The autumn years are now receding
There is no way to stall, detain
I take my coat, my cap, my gloves
To join the forces nature brings
I touch the blossoms and the leaves
I hear the sound that winter sings
I am now winter
Crisp and wise
Clean and fresh
With no disguise.

..this really was beautiful
...i especially liked these lines:
"Have seen the spring and the summer wane
The autumn years are now receding"
as well as the last four lines, which I think are a lovely metaphor for old age...good luck!!
