Isn't it funny how life turns out?
To simply hold you up,
allowing you to feel as if
you're somewhere near freedom,
then when you trip and fall,
to shove itself in your face
and remind you that
your only a little part
of that thing called life.
Spinning around in illusions,
pulling us here and there
on strings of obligations,
that we ignore in the first place,
then forget that we're attached to them
and get tangled up in their worries.
We dance a lifeless dance
with imagined partners
from stories that we wish were ours
but know will never be.
Dresses trail down our sides
hanging like dreams and desires
that we once had and then forgot
when we left the innocence of our youth.
This life that mocks us
but gives us our blessing
by a God of eternal lasting
Will we ever know where to find our place?
we'll only find out
at the bottom of wishing well...
