Faded Paper Roses

A paper rose has no scent, lovely as it seems.
Brightly colored paper bent, but only real in dreams.
It's as bogus as the day is long, stem wrapped in green,
The beauty only colored paper,is as phony as it seems.

There are people in life you sometimes encounter,
as vacant in promise as that lifeless paper rose.
Who's thoughts of things that genuinely matter,
are as phony and lifeless but why heaven knows.

Life's too short to waste time and energy delving into why,
I devoted too much time and effort chasing pie in the sky.
I'm seeking those who intentions are sincere and true,
if you haven't the time or inclination, that's my feelings too.

I'm allergic to colored paper, paper roses have no scent.
only looking for sincere ones, ones who's loyalty is meant.

Wow, very great, and very true. Why go for the unreal things, when you can have the realones? I agree with you that people shouldent act like things they are not, when thier real self is more beautiful. I learned that the hard way, trying to be this kid i wasnt. Thats kinda what I gotta out of this. Thank you for your beautiful poetry, with beautiful words.

( this is An Unseen Star by the way, new s/n for new porposes )
