Why Things Work

It is amazing that these complicated things
We have surrounding us usually work!
Do we think that what our mind brings
Could design the organs which in us lurk?

How could anything work like our bodies do,
We and all surrounding us humming along?
We don't give much thought to what imbues
It all with workability -- until something goes wrong.

Cars, computers, -- do we design them by accident?
Do we build them by chance? Silly question, isn't it?
Yes, silly me to ever wonder about the precedent
Of how this all fell together by chance, and all fit!

Nothing we design and build could come about this way.
Cars, computers, -- intelligent people designed and made.
How did these recent discoveries of what is possible today
Come to fit into this world?  The laws of nature are obeyed.

Why do things work?  The cars, computers we have now
Could have been made for George Washington and the Minute Men
If only there had been someone who had known how,
Known how to make them back then.

These things would not come into being on their own by evolution.
There has been an evolution in the progress of computers.
Did this happen by itself, or were people designing a better solution?
Does anything get made without designers, builders, and users?

What about computers and cars? Both from some Designer?
Or did they fall together by chance? Don't need Bill Gates or Henry Ford?
Just let the computer and the car by themselves become finer?
To design and build anything, intelligent people have to be on board.

How come this computer works? It is so complicated,
Layer upon layer that all has to function right.
How did the stuff come about of which this computer is made
That allows it to have been put together to handle every byte?

It is stuff that has been around since Moses walked the earth.
They did not know back then the molecules that would give birth
To computers and form this machine were going to be used
Today to make it.  For that they may be excused.

Do the atoms and molecules of which this is made
Know what they are doing? They don't know!
It absolutely requires an intelligence to have laid
Out the plan to put this thing together and make it go.

I say again: -- how did the atoms and molecules
Of which this computer is made get to be able,
Themselves, to make it work and do
All these things of which computers are capable?

Back with George Washington nobody knew
That silicon chips would be able to do this. Who did know?
How did all the right elements come out of the blue
To exist today in all the right combinations just so?

It's easy to see and know God exists.
Organization formed from the primordial mists
In space and time required a plan
Of a Designer much smarter than you or I am.

Nothing could exist without intelligence.
It's organization and complication is too much.
We aren't smart enough here on earth to understand.
In Heaven we'll expand until we understand the plan!

What we know here is limited so.
We have so very very far to go!
So ignorant are we now we can't see
The plan of God, -- we can only believe.

We don't abstract the profoundest fact:
That in the elements all was packed
By God -- everything that is here now
Was revealed, as God's plan shows how.

All was there in the mind of God
Unfolded through time as the elements plod
In motion through space as the human race
Is born on this earth of God's grace.

Well you explain clearly who you think God is-the designer and you believe because there must be a designer, a great write that fits the contest criterion so will be in the list of possibilites!
