The Wish

Boldly I march away from trouble
Had enough of hurt and hide
Let the others scuff and squabble
If they prefer to collide

Rudeness awakened my every pore
Can't overlook the vindictive brand
It's much too nasty to ignore
I will not keep my head in sand

Perhaps one day the world is brighter
And kinder words will be said
Then feelings will be so much lighter
And I won't wish that I were dead.
