My eyes are filled with chocolate’s subtle hue;
turned liquid every time I think of you.
My eyes are bronzed from gazing at your face;
tanned because I burn in your embrace.
My eyes reflect a hint of cinnamon;
you love it that some spice is sprinkled in.
My eyes are colored like the nests of birds;
longing to be filled with nestling words.
My eyes are like bread cooling in the pan;
providing nourishment to child and man.
My eyes are dew capped cones upon the pine;
beneath the shade of evergreens they shine.
My eyes are tinted with the shades of earth;
and you must dig if would find my worth.
My eyes are painted with the flecks of stars;
they twinkle even as they shadow scars.
Some would say my eyes are brown and plain;
but my eyes are more then one word can explain.
