Sad Goodbye

Nothing more I can do but mourn a friends passing
Not by natural death but by the unwillingness to speak
Silent conversations to an illusion
A hologram of caring
Disappearing like wisps of smoke

Blocking, deleting and otherwise eradicating
This specter from my world is simple
But banishing other things now unimportant is hard
I will get through this hole in my life though
I have made other friends now

Author notes

I dont what else to say with this, i'll let it speak for its self.

It does unfortunatly and its a work in progress, i'll be adding more once i can plan out another stanza. Yes the hologram is very symbolic right about now thank you for noticing it. Thank you for your comments and critique i'll be thinking of ways to help improve it now. It was a very spur of the moment piece.

The poem moves from sadness to resolution rather too quickly I feel. The trials to get to the stage where you find other friends doesn't seem, to me, to be discussed long enough. I thought the image of a hologram was very apt. And I emphasised with the idea of moving on being more of a denial than an actual departure altogether. I would suggest that if you were to revise the piece, maybe another stanza in which you can gradually point to the resolution of finding other friends, instead of the way the poem lurches towards this in the final two lines would improve the piece. Otherwise it's very good.
