The Desert

Tenderly the wind transports me
Into mellow sanctuary
It treads lightly over sand dunes
It glides through the brighter spaces

I perceive the distant alpine
They draw me to the orchid clouds
Where skies mingle with the soil

Beauty rests within my soul
As the medley sparks the brilliance
Mountains roar
Mist will shimmer
Earth will sound a noiseless cord
My senses clasp the harmony
As the desert beckons

I agree. The desert is beautiful. I used to spend my Summers there. They were happy, care-free times. I love the desert, but also miss those times. Thank you for your comment and applause.

I love this poem. ^_^ Than again I like the desert its a beautiful place I think. Like a tropical oasis, and not to mention the exotic allure of the desert and its roguish nomads. ^_^
