I send you a greeting, late at night
cool November air outside
what will you do, will you reply?
I sit transfixed, I close my eyes.
Half a world you are away
a bit of time lag on this page
Internet friendship created here
ties growing, slipping, always feared.
Time eternal surrounds us now
we watch the same meteor shower
giving hopes to a slim wishing chance
that we may meet in tomorrow’s land.
I’m ever changing, who will I be
when the dawn arrives and breaks upon me?
The greetings I sent from yesterday,
who were they from? What did they say?
Tonight might as well be frozen in time
between the late night darkness and tomorrow’s sunshine
what will these changes bring to us
how soon will we both turn to dust?
A pleasantry, yet I am crushed
my heart sinks low, as if it wasn’t enough!
Peace be with me! These feelings swell
beyond my intellect’s rationale!
Sadness, I, so silly, too,
my eyes well up over you.
Time to accept my simple fate.
It is November, and it is late.

I like this write and I can also relate to it. For when I am coming on line in the morning, it's bedtime for you and often already very late (for you it's actually in the middle of the night). lol. Well done Wayne.

If your heart can feel this deeply.I have every confidence love will find a way to come to you.Don't feel isolated in these feelings, that ghost from a past we all have from time to time. This show great emotion and and observance of balanced thought.~~~~Suseann

I really liked this, so very well done, Kept my interest until the end, a nicely written write, relationships, love, interludes, and infatuations,,, all seem to get complicated when they don't have to,, but I guess when there are feelings involved and the human heart.. it seems to always get tricky,, seems like I am rambling, I hope I'm not, I haven't had much sleep. anyways I found this to be outstanding work....

I love this piece! Yes, you've described the feeling so well. I've grown to log on, to simply refresh the page to see if anybody sent me something, to see who's online. It's strange how mere online relationships can have that affect, when we don't even know the person other than our virtual reality. This was so extremely well done!

glad you enjoyed this little piece, Ms. bluerose! Feelings that everyone has had being felt through a poem- what more could one ask for when writing!

I so hope to read more from you,and thank you for sharing this with my family and I. Superb job here well written -
I know this feeling well, I only ever get to talk to the guy I like this way. I loved the ending to your poem, very decicive. The expression as you told of your feelings, wonderful!
