Writing Towards the Light: for Nicolette & Lyrical Soul

Missing image
Fire consumes
shadowed eyes,
lost in anguish

for broken dreams
of Grandeur
that cannot
be retrieved...

We wail silently
with our bloody ink,

unfathomable
in our grief,

bruised
inconsolably

by our ravaged Hearts
that pulse too loud
when sleep will not come...

We wait patiently
to either
live or die,

unable to dance
without music
to beckon
our sorrowed bones...

Hearing our mournful
echoes,

the Muse reaches out
from a distance
to envelop us
in healing warmth ~

luminescent tears
cease to fall

& we are stunned
by the depths
of Hope

we still hold
sacred
within...

We write
towards the Light,

grateful
for every jagged breath...

Congratulations on your trophy for this poem, Vlindetjie!! You deserve all the trophies in the world, because no one can write like you do, my dear sis. Once again I am stunned by the beauty and depth of this poem - but not only this poem...also the depth and beauty of your heart. Lyrical and myself are two very lucky ladies to be able to call you friend!! So happy for you, lady with wings!!

I just had to come back to this one again Wanda. Reading this tonight has a different effect on me than it did the first time, both times very moving but tonight, it is just the words I needed to here. I will find that light and write towards it again if it's the last thing I do. Thank you dear friend, once again for such beauty that you give to us all so freely.

So often have I been on the receiving end of your goodness, your compassion, your passion, your heart of many rooms, your soul of light and love, dear Vlindertjie....still, each time you leave me speechless, make all my doves fly away - again and again...and again!! This is so beautiful, so moving, so touching that I don't know what to say...it is at times like this that I know that English is my 2nd language, Vlindertjie, because the doves flew away with my English . Beautiful, beautiful poem of light... WOW, you can make poetry out of everything, you shower Lyrical and me and leave us glowing, glowing, glowing!! Yes, I am "stunned by the depths of Hope" and talent and compassion and love that bubbles forth from your pen, my dear sis - amazing, beautiful, deep, poetic...stunning. Thank you so much for being inspired, my friend...you may write poetry!!

You're cute... This remark: '...You have wonderful taste, aside for your odd attraction to my scribblings...' denies the very reason I have good taste; diversity & appreciation for all things literate & divine... So there!!! I'm glad ya like it so much, my Friend...if it s truly immaculate, then it must be the subjects I wrote of that made it so...& Rob??? If ya fall flat on your face again, just say my name...I'll come help ya get back up again... Thanks, Scribe... Wanda

I can think of no better use for this contest than to salute the great poets we admire. To begin with, this poem is immaculate. When I try to write with such spare and elegant phrasing I fall flat on my face. Your words seem to fall, effortless, like a gentle rain. The poets you choose to honor are brilliant. You have wonderful taste, aside for your odd attraction to my scribblings.lol.
    Peace, Rob

    made me dig

    dark
    made me think

    the answer was....

True morality implies a tolerance for other attitudes and modes of life, not necessarily an endorsement of them. The major immorality is in insisting (by coercion blackmail, or law) that others live and think as you do.
