cold is the air as the blade cuts through it

cold is the air as the blade cuts through it
the skin is bare the artery exposed
her skin is fair her scent entrancing
the threat is there a princess her time is up

but he cant bare to see her blood flow
but his oath holds hime true, she must go
so a poison he procures it passes her lips
from her heavenly body her life slips

I wonder if the poem is any easier to understand after having read the books? I hope not because I don't feel like running out to the store ... this is sad. thanks for the entry
