Excuses

A million excuses.
Reasons of reasoning men.
Amid the vying for
Power and control
Over humanity.
Rule the world-
Or some aspect of it.
Priests in power
From all denominations
Of Belief
Or Non-Belief.

Realities of the
Reasoning Reasonable.
Killing the
Souls of those
They claim to save,
Strapping on ammo,
Destroying humans
In the name of creation,
Or having all
Believe there is
Nothing in life,
Or death, or
Ever-after except
Our own ignorant
Intelligence.

All will lie
To prove that
A closed mind
Makes the best
Citizen.

Armageddon shouted
From the rooftops
In the wake of
Hurricanes
Hell bent
On dragging
Us onto rapture
Or reevaluation
Of the mild southern
Winter.

Since the dawn of
Smartness,
The social snob
Has proven points
Unprovable,
Both for and against.
Justifying horrendous
Acts against
The creations of
The God they
Claim to love,
Or blame,
Or disregard.

One thing agreed
Yet overlooked by
Those evolved
Or created.
There was a time
When we were not.
There was a force
That set life into
Motion whether
From germ
Or sperm.
There will come
A day when
We are no more
And face the
Music of the
Universe so
Intelligently created
In our own words
Of belief.

The facts?
Out of grasp
Of mortal documentation
Amid the hardness
Of the human heart.
Yet, we take
Up arms to
Wipe another
School of thought
From existence
Thus being
The authority and
Once more,
Labeling our
Excuses.

A well written endictment of those who create Gods in their own image. Then use them as an excuse to victomize those who are "other" Best of luck.
    Peace, Rob

omg thistle...you did it again. This poem is so true in my opinion that it is unreal. Especially the stanza that begins with "The facts out of grasp" Its like there are no facts proving any school of thought but people act like there are. Anyways..awesome!
