Goodnight

A year has finally passed my love,
It seemed to move so slow.
The hands of time are slowing down,
Their batteries running low.

As I look back over the months past,
They're dim, with splashes of light,
From the tears I cried on your behalf,
Since the day your soul took flight.

But now the pain is easing up,
And my heart beats free once more.
While I love you now, and always will,
I've my feet back on the floor.

The world will start to spin again,
And this time I'll move too.
Living my life through steps and tears,
Loving, but without you.

Author notes

Clayton - I wanted to write you something yesterday for your wife's anniversary, but I simply didn't have the inspiration - this came to me now, just a few moments ago, and if you feel it is innappropriate, or you don't like it, I will delete it ... Symph x

Thank you for your sweet reply to Goodnight This isn't actually a true life poem for me, rather it was written for another poet on this site, who is one of the best modern poets I have come across, and will, hopefully, hold out a helping hand to him in this time ...

Thank you LB, any reply from you is more than welcome - I am not sure how this poem will be received, for being an anniversary poem, I may have touched on areas that are tender without meaning to .. But hopefully he will like it.

Thanks so much for reading and leaving a message, your comments are always welcome

wow, what an awsome, deep poem, i cant believe how great this is, and you should be very proud of this one, keep up the great writting, and never forget love goes and passes, but it brings you fond, and some even bad memories, but you learn from them, take care, and dont stop writting Jen

    Excellent poem

A beautiful poem of the every lasting love. I read this poem as a loved one that has passed on to the other side. this love would never be forgotten yet we are left behind to carry on. becuase we move on does not mean that we forget or would love the person we lost any less this is very well expressed within this poem such a tender write Best wishes to you Brian.

Symphony, I think is beautiful. It's not mine, or anyone elses place to comment, and I know you didnt invite crit, but it really did move me, and I wanted to let you know how powerful it is. Delete this comment if you feel you should. I hope whoever you wrote it for finds it touching, but only in the way you intended.
