Christmas Dreams

Missing image

You'll be in my dreams this Christmas
I will be dreaming of you so far away
teardrops will fall like snowflakes
Christmas morning and Christmas day

The pretty red and green decorations
make me feel blue and lonely inside
putting on my mask of holiday cheer
all the sadness I feel I can hide

You won't kiss me under the mistletoe
so very far away except in my mind
dear Santa I have one Christmas wish
let me leave this loneliness behind

Then I think about Joepsh and Mary
so lost and alone on Christmas Eve
true meaning fills my heart with joy
once again my heart begins to believe

Amidst all of the hustle and bustle
my thoughts will wander back to you
instead of sugar plums on Christmas
in my head I'll be dancing with you

very sad but lovely to read

This is such lovely write and brings a lump to my throat...it is sad but sometimes we do have to wear a mask to hide the deep sadness in our hearts, but this is done also out of a love and caring for others, the ones who are so precious to us...I truly wish you the best Christmas with some cheeriness even though you will still be sad in heart...~Lilac~

This is a beautiful write, inspired from one of my lines...full of emotion, each word carved with care...it is very honest with a soft flow to it when I read it aloud...loneliness is evident from your words, so...out of sadness comes poetic beauty, exceptional from beginning to end as you come smiling through with your faith...this time of year is hard to get through when there is someone missing who should be there...I can relate some what with the feelings you are or will be experiencing this Christmas time...

There is a typo with the name Joseph, you may not have noticed...nicely done and I love the animation...wishing you a peaceful Christmas...~Lilac~

Hi Sis, Beautiful Christmas poem. I bet a lot of lonely husbands , wives and sweethearts whose loved one is in the Middle East will really relate to this. Very timely...even though it's sad. Here's hoping they will all be together again next Christmas. Good luck in the contest. Love, Linny
