I love
How the wind sends a blade of ripples through the grass
How your fingerprints on my spine can stay for hours
Or an instant.
I am drenched
And soaking to the core, in rain and in you
Eating me; I'm not one for drizzles
But some wretched pouring, down on me,
harsh-
violent-
directed-
Pretend away any platonicism
Your sweetness is undilute.

Hmmm ok. Well let me see. My preferences are really my own. But my favourite album of hers would be "Boys for Pele." This one has a very classical type of feel. Less instruments. Usually just her and her piano and a couple other additional sounds like bells, violin arrangements and such. Classical like I said. And this one is also one she produced in her darker times, when she was lost. So well I guess I can relate. For something lighter and more "cheery" I'd suggest "The Beekeeper." For more ones with more instruments yet while keeping a traditional sound "Little Earthquakes," "Under the Pink" and "Scarlet's Walk" are for you. Or if you like weirder techno-ish sounds "From the Choirgirl Hotel" is a good one. Then there's "To Venus and Back" which I haven't heard so I can't tell you much about it. And "Tales of a Librarian" is a compilation of songs from her previous cds and "Strange Little Girls" is an album of others' songs she plays. Umm, as for my favourite songs I'll list them:
From Little Earthquakes: Crucify, Girl, Precious Things, Mother, Little Earthquakes.
From Under the Pink: Pretty Good Year, God, Bells for Her, Cornflake Girl, Anastasia.
From Boys for Pele: Horses, Blood Roses, Father Lucifer, Marianne, Caught a Lite Sneeze, Hey Jupiter, Not the Red Baron, Doughnut Song.
From From the Choirgirl Hotel: Spark, Cruel, Black Dove, She's Your Cocaine, Hotel, Playboy Mommy.
From Scarlet's Walk: A Sorta Fairytale, Wednesday, Carbon, I Can't See New York, Taxi Ride, Gold Dust.
From The Beekeeper: Sweet the Sting, The Power of Orange Knickers (featuring Damien Rice), Mother Revolution, Ribbons Undone, Original Sinsuality, The Beekeeper, Marys of the Sea.
And that's about it.

wow, thanks so much, you've made me feel a lot better about a piece which i wasn't so sure about on writing it.. i'm glad you liked.
well, you mention tori amos, and i like the little exert you included, so i wondered if maybe you could drop me the names of some songs i should check out? or which album is the best etc.... i've heard much good About her, but nothing From her. gracias! -
i really enjoyed this piece. i liked that it wasn't your typical love poem, but expressed emotions in a different way. excellent descriptions that evoke some vivid imagery. the last two lines work incredibly well, and this is an overall strong piece. i enjoyed it. thank you for sharing, and keep up the wonderful work <3

Really love this. I can relate. Love expressed so beautifully. That's rare. But excellent. I absolutely love the very last verse of this poem. Well, makes me think of a mix of Chemistry class and the truth of some relationships and also about chocolate. Yes. Anyway, and I love the part where you say you're not the one for drizzles. Makes me think of this song, Father Lucifer by Tori Amos. She says, "Father Lucifer you never looked so sane, you always did prefer the drizzle to the rain..." Yes I know it's the complete opposite of what you're expressing there but it still makes me think of that. Anyway. I really love how you express yourself. In this... prose-like way, though poetically, if that makes sense. And I love the usuage of the second person narrative. It's effective in this piece. This is gorgeous
