Summer Haiku

SUMMER HAIKU

Daylights mooch over fields.
Eye-filling warmth combs dry land,
Tranquil callow breeze.

Saffron foxfire sun.
Prisms of glowing honeyed strobe,
Manacle plaza hedgerows.

Birds fall like fodder.
Bleary radiant tepid full sun,
Orgies of flute like music.

These are lovely examples of haiku. I liked that the language was slightly more complex than is usual in haiku - it felt right somehow, sort of mimicking the fact of summer's fullness. Loved 'daylights mooch', gorgeously different, and 'saffron foxfire sun' was gloriously golden. I also liked the 'birds fall like fodder' line - a sort of final closing to the series. Nice write(s).
