of the confessional!
"My father was a priest, you know."
Quoted portion from "Take off your clothes, let me see what it is you are hiding" by Peter Sarstedt
Author notes
Yes, and I stole the quoted line from Peter Sarstedt's 1969 song, "Take off your clothes, let me see what it is that you're hiding"

I have heard that the literal translation of the word bastard in french is Priest's son...
-
Lie or not the only worse thing is if this was given by the priest.
-
This is a wonderful little epigram. What bite at the end!!!!!
-
but all I actually confessed to was lying...

You certainly found the worst case scenerio. And your confession is very controversial, which makes it either brilliant or bad. Which it is depends on the reader!

Shocking to a non-catholic ex convent girl such as I. I'd enter this contest myself but I'm sure if I were truthful I'd be in very deep s*t!! Tempting though.... x debs -
No way, Jo. Only the last line "My father was a priest, you know", is from Peter Sarstedt. But thanks anyway for nearly saying it was a great confesional.

oh lordy...now that's a confession
i'm not gonna ask if it's true...i have a feeling it isn't
this is truly a stroke of genius and the most outlandish confession an imaginative mind could possibly come up with
and if it is true i still like you
best of luck

I was going to say a great "confessional" but I don't like the fact that you "plaguerized" it for the whole of your entry to this contest. granted, you gave credit to Peter Sarstedt's song in your author's comments, but this "QUOTE" of his lyrics is the entire of your write here. a quote should be part of one's own writing...not the whole of the writing. but...your entry nonetheless.
