Intercession (Pleiades)

~:~x~:~

In every life
Ill happenings
Imminently come;
Instantly, I am
Inspired to
Intercede in prayer-
I want to help bear the pain.

Author notes

I've just been thinking about all the people on my mind that I'm praying for... so many going through so many different things! I'm glad there is ONE thing I CAN do to help!

    This is a wonderful, wonderful poem! I always wonder myself what more can I do than to pray for others, but when you stop and really think about the power of prayer, then you realize you are moving mountains! I wish you the best in this contest!! Karen

    Very nice!!! It holds a powerful message, and reads smoothly...using the same letter to begin each line without it being so apparent isn't easy...you did a great job.
    Thank you for entering the contest.

    I adore the simplicity and repetative nature of beginning each line with "I". This relates beautifully to the concept of prayer since it often seems so personal, yet so worldly at the same time.
    Prayer is a fantastic outlet. I came across this quote a while ago - you may find it interesting... by the theologian Richard Hooker on the value of prayer...

    "When we are not able to do any other thing for men's behoof, when through maliciousness or unkindness they vouchsafe not to accept any other good at our hands, prayer is that which we always have in our power to bestow, and they never in theirs to refuse."
