The Master Painter

I watch as the clouds gathered
Changing from grey to black
As they filled to capacity
Holding the water back
Bulging til nearly bursting
Braking at the seems
The water falls
Creating ponds and streams
 
Then like a shinning banner
Spread for all to see
A multi coloured rainbow
Created for you and me
Its colours are so bright
As it arches into the sky
Blending all the colours
Right before my very eye


I can but wonder at its beauty
As it shimmers in the air
This fragile ribbon of colour
That on closer look isn’t there
It’s the most spectacular light show
That physics has given birth 
And from an environmental point
It doesn’t cost the earth


The colours are all so vivid
From Reds and blues and green
With a billion other colours
Crammed on top and in-between
The warmth that comes from Crimson
The cool of steal blue
The bright feeling of buttercup
That fills the body through


I wonder at this miracle
What artist brush
With swift of stroke
Could paint so lush
On mother natures canvas
All the colours of this land
A pallet full of colours mixed
All at a masters hand

    What can I say about this? We perhaps dreamt again!!! I was going to write something about the colors of nature lol!!! I am haunted yet again!!! But yes, mine wouldnt turn out the way you did, maybe smaller and incomplete, but then you are always there to complete my thoughts lol! Now you have done this, I will give up, and think of something else, if we hadnt spoken right now, maybe I still would have submitted it, but then these are coincidences, telepathy or whatever you wanna call them. And I can guarantee you our last verse would more or less be the same. I feel haunted really!

    I loved this, its mine!

    Your poem brought back a fond childhood memory I haven't thought of in years! It was the first time I witnessed a rainbow. I remember wanting to follow it and everyone laughing. Yet, somehow, I think I still do... lovely write... so soft and dreamy. One can feel their whole being break into a smile as they read. At least I did! Good luck in the contest.

    This was an absolutely beautiful piece. A rainbow is something so attractive and wonderful that for me it would be hard to describe it in a way that would do it justice. But in your poem the imagery and descriptions that you used painted an awe-inspiring picture in my mind. And the rhyme scheme made your words flow in a way that added to the beauty of this piece. Best wishes in the contest. I really hope that you place with this.

    I really love the flow of this piece. I love the rhyme of this piece as well. Your words have painted a beautiful picture before my eyes. Each word is like a soft refreshing brush stroke of elegant beauty for the reader to indulge themself in.
