Hallows' Eve

People dancing
running through the grass
fingers tracing
the twisted lines
of bare trees
reaching up
to the night sky
strange silhouettes
that jump and leap
haunting figures
that stalk the woods
a chance for the
paranormal to
spring from the
sameness
for lone figures
to hide behind masks
accepted as one
of the night
a masquerade
of grotesque ghouls
of charming ghosts
of flying ribbons
that tie us to the sky
trailing down as
black and orange tears
fake crimson
dripping down my cheek
real wounds
that pierce my soul
all forgotten on this night
all the words,
all the actions,
all the tears
forgotten on this holiday
blowing away on this chill wind
I hide behind this mask
as I know others do now
and dance as I never have before
until my feet have become weary
I'll fly along the floor
with imagined partners
Forget all my fears for the night
in this whirling,
never ending masquerade
that shall end with
the morning light

Author notes

Heheh..... I wrote this on Hallows'Eve night...... I think....
(with my memory, I can't be sure... x3)
Anyways, a couple different emotions where running through my head at the time, so the result was a little..... um.... odd.
