"After God's own heart"-
This title of the shepherd,
David, writer of the Psalms.
Even this man sinned,
Yet through punishment and praise,
He put his hope in the Lord.

Author notes
The reasons I feel I relate well to David are these: (1) He understood how very human he was, (2) He liked to sing, (3) He was tempted in the same areas that I am, and (4) He always came back to worshipping the Lord. And, there may be more, too.
David started out small, doing what he was told, a shepherd boy obeying his father. Even at this early age God was preparing him for great things.
God saw his heart, that it was steadfast in faith. God chose David to be the next king of Israel.
David went through a lot before he even made it to his throne. But he did end up getting there, and did many good things as king.
But, like every person, he has his weak points. He fell into sin. However, he confessed his wrong, rather than justify it. God was forgiving because of this.
I find David to be a very human guy that God used in extra-special ways. David understood that our lives are nothing without the Lord, and that God should have first place in our lives, and that we should confess our wrongs to the Lord.
And, the psalms are FULL of times where he struggled, but trusted in the Lord. I think that speaks of MANY lives of Christians.

Wonderfully thought provoking. You express things from a point of view that it would be a beneficial to all of us
. You bring our attention to very important points in a few simple, yet beautiful words.

I applaud this.
You are so correct and I am glad you saw this. David was the origional poet as far as the bible was concerned. This is put very well. I believe that I will have to do the contests in some separate categories because each of them are very praise worthy.

2 old applause
