Trust we must until the willful ways deceive,
truth is all we have to cling to,
lies bring only grief.
Spoken words born of honesty's purest virtue,
no one can by righteousness condemn,
a trust does recommend.
To lie is to kill a portion of mankind's glint,
dishonesty creates only descent,
truth and honesty defend.

Very well said. I think there are times when lies are necessary though, and go by the saying, 'a truth told with bad intent, is worse than any lie we could invent'.
And that's where you're second stanza makes all the difference,
"Spoken words born of honesty's purest virtue,"
Very insightful, and beautiful. And that's no lie.

Words well spoken suseann. There is nothing worse than a liar. Lies break down our spirit and wreak havoc throughout the human race. This is very well said, as only you, my completely honest and trustworthy friend could have said it. Very well done Suseann. I wish you a ton of luck in this contest.
